A Five Day a Week Watch

Post by Rixsler86 »

Hi guys and gals.
I’m looking for suggestions for an everyday watch that can be worn at work 5 days a week. Something versatile and robust.
Needs to have a decent bracelet.
Also should have either a black, white or grey dial.
Any suggestions?

For less than $300, this one's hard to beat: Well balanced on its bracelet. Despite the hour marker font's lack of pop, it's very readable. Adequate lume. Swiss motor.

Just my $0.02 USD as always.

New, I assume? Design/style preference? Automatic or quartz?

May need to find a screw-down crown, I suspect, to meet that WR requirement. 5 atmosphere is easy.

This was mentioned in cortman’s thread as well but my first thought would be something from the Chris Ward C65 lineup. The case shape is fantastic and very comfortable for everyday wear. Available in 38 or 41mm with 3 hander or GMT configurations and the vintage model has no bezel since you aren’t looking for a diver. It can be had for well under $1k on sale or with the frequent coupons they send out. For that you get a sapphire Swiss auto, 150m water resistance, lume, date complication and a nice bracelet with quick release spring bars and ratchet clasp.

I got mine 8 days ago, haven’t taken it off since and in that time it’s averaging +3.2spd.

I like the white but realize the the black may be more versatile...which my be important in a five day watch.

This is enjoyable to follow. I have been thinking about the same thing but my Garmin gets in the way...and I think I have narrowed the field to two that I really don't need to think about, so I try not to  .

Digital SLRs in your sig? We can talk about those ;)

Very, very nice! I wish that I used my camera for watch shots more...use my cell phone 95% of time. I did shoot a Vostok with a 300 2.8. It was sharp as a tack and the bokeh was amazing. The watch still looked like a Vostok  .

You have given me a little motivation. Thank you :D .

Have it in for review. Let me know if there is anything you want to know. And if you’re in the tri state area, you can always check it out.

Appreciate the off, but I live in Atlanta.

Seems it would wear thick. Does it?
And never see pics of the subsecond crossing under the circle around the hour & minute hands. For some reason, I'm intrigued by that detail.
