Re: True Confessions
I hate scalpers. Hate them soooo much. This guy on the UGWC Facebook group literally bought 4 of the blue Alpinists from the last batch, and he says he bought 4 more in the one before...

Re: True Confessions
I just had a wild realization. While staying at the in laws, I had to change the toilet paper roll. I haven't had one of this style holders in like a decade, but it made me realize that it is just a giant spring bar.
I had been practicing strap changes my entire childhood and didn't know it! No wonder it came so naturally lol.

Re: True Confessions
Today, I had the chance to go try on some watches.
It was my first time trying on these watches, all of which are on my LIST TO BUY EVENTUALLY.
I'm definitely loving how the speedy looks and feels on the wrist. I tried both the sapphire and Hesalite. Probably leaning towards the Hesalite.
That and I haven't slept in over 24 hours. Glad I didn't sign up to run that 15k with my friend tomorrow.
Oh and $4k-$5k for the new Seiko SLA is just silly.
Forgot I scored 8 lbs of free protein this morning. #winning

Re: True Confessions
My 3-year old daughter looked up at me and said, “Papa, what is time?”
I was stunned and had no ready answer. She saw the confusion on my face and clarified, “Papa, what is time is now?”
That I could handle as I was wearing a watch. More difficult questions lay ahead.

Re: True Confessions
Time is just one big marketing scam made by the watch industry to sell more watches. It's true because I found the answer on the internetSporkboy wrote:My 3-year old daughter looked up at me and said, “Papa, what is time?”

That is better than what I came up with later: a human construct meant to mark the passage of one moment to the next.AndroidIsAwesome wrote:Time is just one big marketing scam made by the watch industry to sell more watches. Just wait until you have to explain about relativity.
Re: True Confessions
Not really a confession if you’re one of my friends. I have a really large nerd/geek streak.

How long a minute is depends on which side of the bathroom door you are on.

Not a fan of the external bezel.
Just not aesthetically pleasing to me.
However, I do love the colors on this Glycine Double Twelve and always stop when I scroll past it.

Bricks and mortar get my licks just for kicks
AD or authorized I don't analyze
Retail, wholesale never fail
Online or offline, I find I don't redefine
Too big to fail or yard sale they all hale
Run or hide just for fun deals I find

I have an opposite problem than most.
When I see a watch that really piques my interest, even if a little pricey, my wife will usually tell me "you should get that!"
Sometimes an enabler can be counterproductive...

Re: True Confessions
Somehow, I just blew my entire budget and brought 3 watches within 2 days.
And it isn't even Black Friday yet either!
