The obvious answer would be Pliny the Elder from Russian River Brewing in Santa Rosa (north bay). Insanely delicious and dangerously drinkable even at a high ABV.yinzburgher wrote:Dub Rubb FTEDub Rubb wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2019 9:32 pm Alright FTE, I will join you with a Torpedo! Do you have a favorite IPA? Or any favorite local Bay Area beers in general?
I drink more booze than beer but still like the occasional IPA. Never had Pliny. I've had the standard Lagunitas IPA several times and really like it. I've had Sumpin Easy or Lil Sumpin, can't remember. Never heard of Super Cluster. However, Henhouse brewing out of Petaluma and Santa Rosa has a whole slew of delicious IPAs on a rotating basis. I have never been dissapointed by them. And if you go to the Petaluma location, you can double dip and go across the street to Lagunitas.
Speaking of Lagunitas, two of their newer releases are high on my list, but for different reasons. The Sumpin' easy is that rare hop forward beer that was built for the beach. A little fruity, but not overpoweringly so. Still definitely a hop lovers beer and amazingly refreshing for this style of beer.
Second is their Super Cluster ale. Definitely a solid take on a west coast DIPA with the high (8%) ABV to prove it. If you are in the area, there are lots of smaller places that don't have the distribution network but are pumping out solid beers. Just let me know, and I will point you in the right direction.
In summary, do yourself a favor and get some Pliny. It deserves most of the hype it gets.

Love the beer and the watch! Are those the stock hands? They look great!yinzburgher wrote:Deschutes and a Seiko mod.

Thanks! Yea, stock hands. Would have been easier to swap movements but I wanted to keep the black day and date wheel so I transferred the SNK803 dial and hands to the movement and case of a SNKM79. I often think about putting Sinn 556a dial and hands on it instead but then I put it on and enjoy it as it is, so it never happens. Pics of your SKX mod has me thinking about putting ceramic and sapphire on an 8926. Hopefully sometime this spring or summer I'll get that done. Enjoy the Super Cluster....Cheers!Dub Rubb wrote: ↑Sat Mar 23, 2019 12:03 amLove the beer and the watch! Are those the stock hands? They look great!yinzburgher wrote:Deschutes and a Seiko mod.
