Inspired by CVP33 I had the Chevy towed to the mechanic (she’s basically been sitting for about 10 years). $1300 and a new fuel pump and I drove her home. Almost forgot how much fun it is to listen to the V8 with the top down.

Of course one of the coolant hoses went and spilled coolant all over the road as soon as I got her home. Oh well old cars. At least I made it home.

C4s are a classic.

Since it's been sitting for 10 years and you've already had one hose bust, I'd recommend taking it back to your mechanic and having the other hoses and the serpentine belt replaced as well.

I have fond memories of a certain 1967 Chevelle SS. Then my wife reminds me of everything that went wrong with it repeatedly and how many times it left us stranded. I still miss her………the car I mean.

Looks like there is an art to closing the door and entering the front seat at the same time. There's no way I could get in the seat and reach the door.

The electric rear doors on the X are surprisingly useful. They can open straight up in a tight space.

Most people don't know the front doors are also electric. They work correctly about 20% of the time.

It's been awhile since I worked under a car. Any recommendations for a floor jack and stands for a 5000 lb vehicle (maybe figure 6000 in case a bigger vehicle is in my future)? Any other must have items?

I find myself looking at vintage vehicles and wondering if I would really have the patience to work on one. To find out I want to try doing some maintenance on my Flex.

The first vintage car that caught my eye was a '73 Mustang convertible, but since then my eye has been roving all over the place. Just a phase?

Vintage cars are much, much easier, and more forgiving to work on than modern cars. Don't judge your ability or desire after working on your Flex.

This is what I would recommend as well. I have a 3-ton floor jack in steel from Harbor Freight. It is an absolute beast (weighs like 75lbs) and I have never had any issues with it.

Along with the jack and stands, I'd also suggest a set of wheel chocks and ramps.
