Great looking watch for Halloween--but notice the impossible dual time pictured.

Clipped numerals don't usually bother me, but this is absurd.

From TheJohnP's recent deal post, the XI numeral is a flipped version of the IX numeral -- the wide stroke of the X is going the wrong way. Or is that an ML thing?

From the interwebs, for comparison:

Woke up yesterday, looked at the clock--7:30. Went to the bathroom. As it was 7:30, I decided to get some more sleep. So, went back to the bedroom only to discover that the bed was still made--the blanket not wrinkled up. I realized then that it was 7:30 in the evening, not the morning, and that I had awoken from an afternoon nap. The fact that I was totally dressed somehow never entered my deranged mind.

You know that commercial where they joke that you think you are an expert if you stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night? The same thing happens if you buy watch tools and watch YouTube. A VERY simple (I thought) battery change on an old novelty watch seems like a safe and easy way to start to learn how to remove case backs and overcome the fear of opening them. The novelty watch from hell (shown in the pic) was made by masochists. I say this because to change the SR623 battery you have to remove 2 screws that can almost be seen by the naked eye. Now, I suspect many of you know where this is going. Many of you understand the forces of nature and the laws of physics that govern replacing a screw into its hole using tweezers. You likely know that the formula for how far and in which direction the screw will fly is akin to the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle. You cannot know with the direction and the force it flew off with. If you are lucky, you know 1 of these. Then there is the law I am calling the Law of Screw Attraction. This holds that any screw dropped or flung in a room will be attracted to the spot it least likely to be found. For example, you might have a mix of table space, hardwood or tile floor space, and deep carpet space. The screw is drawn to that carpet with the force of a thousand suns.

So imagine me on the floor with a powerful magnet, sweeping the entire room hoping to hear a faint "ping" as the almost perceptible screw is found. It took 30 minutes.

I win the mistake of the day this day.

I clicked on and ad on a news website because it seemed oddly inappropriate for the site. It was major nudity stuff with audio and I found out that my phone was connected to my wife’s Bluetooth speaker out in the yard where she was working. She said people getting down took over her radio and started playing it to the neighborhood. I am in a bit of consequential doghouse mode.

No joke. I did that.
