As you may have noticed, we we're offline this morning. This was caused by the "Thanks" plug-in going rogue and using up way too many server resources. This triggered an automatic suspension by our hosting provider as they thought it was a malicious attack. The "Thanks" plug-in has been disabled, hopefully temporarily so I can determine if that was indeed the cause, and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.

I apologize for the disruption and for any confusion that may have caused.

SNE541 w stainless shroud and bracelet.jpeg
My SNE541 with new $10 Ali Express bracelet. A bit noisy as it doesn't have amazing tolerances, but to be honest it's not that different from some stock Seiko stuff. Also has a $35~ Ali Express stainless shroud.

Original look of the watch:

Fluorine rubber straps from Ali Express. Love these things- this order completes my full 20 and 22mm sets.

Ooooo.
Like that blue/orange one that's second from left.

Two straps from AliExpress arrived today. First, the red fluorine strap from this seller.

I bought this to go on my Mondaine Giant, but knew it was a gamble due to the very small lug clearance. Not surprisingly, it didn't fit. I tried it on the Nighthawk next but didn't like the look. Not expecting much, I tried it on the Visitor Duneshore Calligraph and liked it more than expected.

I also picked up a blue "fluorine" strap with deployant clasp from this seller. I ran it through the "pet the cat" test (not a euphemism, just petting my cat as long as she would tolerate) and it did pick up some lint/cat hair. I'm guessing this is closer to silicone than fluorine because of the softness and lint attraction, but better than your typical cheap silicone band. Not sure I trust the clasp. Not bad, but not quite what I was expecting.

I was able to shave 1mm or so from the spring bar end of the fluoro strap with an Exacto knife to make it fit the Mondaine. The lugless design that makes straps such a tight fit also hides the trim job.

Scored this INOX from a deal posted by justin86 back in April. It came with bracelet so I just purchased and received this Barton Elite silicone for a quick beach trip coming up next week. Really like the quick release spring bars. Colors in the photo aren't exactly correct. The band actually matches the face really well.

BluShark haul came in. I initially planned to post photos here, but there were just too many. Here's a tease...

Jack Mason "raw edge" leather strap from their Last Chance sale. I already had the JM aviator watch, but it had come on a NATO I didn't care for, so was happy to see these were on sale. Very impressed with the buttery-soft 1/8 inch leather, and the arrival time (ordered Friday, received Monday). Thanks to McLovin for the post in the deals thread, cost me about 21 bucks and free shipping (sale still on, though this color is sold out).
