Altoids Tin Springbar Kits- Join the Waiting List
I am just testing the waters to see how much interest there is in me making some springbar kits that have the most common sizes in a quality that is higher than those cheap sets from China. Oh yeah, it is in a better container to boot. 3D printed and designed to hold 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22mm springbars. Each bin has a sizing gauge to the left of it so that you can compare a springbars of unknown size to the 5 standard lug widths (18-22mm).
Each kit would come with a pair of 3D printed tweezers that are stowed in the handy compartment above the springbars bins.
Springbars are 1.78mm in diameter and you would get 20 of each size.
The price for the
Fully stocked kit: $25 shipped within the CONUS.
Insert, tin and tweezers: $12 $15 Shipped CONUS
Edit: wrong price initially posted on the basic kit. Sorry about that.
I am making a few sets for some of the guys on Discord and we figured that there would be more people interested.
I need to place an order for springbars anyway, so I just need to figure out how much money I should drop getting those in. It you have a 3D printer, you can print out your own and get your own springbars. I need to update the posting for the file, but I will do that shortly.
If you are interested enough that you are at the ‘shut up and take my money’ stage, let me know and I can put you on a waiting list. Once I get the springbars in and can make complete kits I will contact those on the list.
Edit: you can download the files on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4659798

I should note that Split-Time and ManOnTime have the previous version of this and can speak to its usefulness. They were my beta testers and as such received the kit or partial kit in exchange for feedback on the design.
Note: I am not paying for an endorsement or anything and would expect honest opinions from these two as I know them to be of solid integrity and all around good guys.

I think that orange is a good color here for a good reason. If I do offer a choice, it will be orange or white. Orange will be the default.
I am only planning on making the inserts in white plastic at the moment.
You are on the list.
Since I don’t need to wait for springbars, the $12 option will ship sooner.

I re-checked the math and the insert and tin only version should be $15 and not $12. I will honor the $12 price for recapt though since he got in before I caught the mistake.

Ooh ooh ooh.
When I had seen the preview for this post in my scrolling, I did not realize it was something being offered to other.
Can you put me down for a full kit please? If you've already ordered your bars, I'll take the insert-and-tin version please!

No worries, you are down for one full kit. I am going to give it a few days and then I will place an order. With any luck there will be enough interest that I can get enough springbars to make a few extra kits so that I don’t need to have constant wait lists.

Re: Altoids Tin Springbar Kits- Are You Interested?
My springbar situation was a mess. They were loose and everywhere and I didn’t know what I had or where. This well thought out little gem has improved my mood .
Sporkboy asked for a critique, but I’m so happy with it that all I could think was to label the bins. I didn’t do a great job with that, so keep in mind that is on me and not Sporkboy. The labels are easy enough to peel off.
