Always wanted one of these! What a great story behind these, too.
You are on the list to get one. I have yet to design the moderator’s watch. Maybe now is a good time for me to revisit that. I didn’t bring the parts with me, but I can get started with some aspects of the design.

I voted yes but the more nuanced answer is that it depends first and foremost on the design/style/appearance and size. Assuming it passes that test, it would need to be a reasonable level of quality for the money. It would not need to be an absolute screaming deal, just a decent value. Lastly, if it's an inexpensive but reliable quartz watch the chances of me committing are pretty likely. If it's a base level Seiko or Miyota automatic, I'm almost certainly in. If it's an ETA/Sellita or other Swiss automatic, it's not as likely. Regardless of whether I'm ultimately in or not, I'm excited for the possibilities.

Something like this, except for a watch?

Bertucci routinely has watches for under $40, perhaps we could contact them w/ a design and get a discount for a group purchase.

That's kind of where we ended up with the WUS Steinhart project and this exact image springs to mind every time I think of a project watch....

I would consider it but I’m not sure, TBH. I’ve scaled down the number of watches I own and it would really have to be special.

A member on WUS, mconlonx, had a custom dial done by San Martin on one of their 6105 clones. The up charge was $40 for a logo change and two lines of text.
I’m not suggesting a style or brand, etc. but I do think this was fairly reasonable and could be a streamlined method for a forum watch, YMMV.

I could get behind a CWC field watch, but would be all in on a P40 blue. I mean, just look at it!

YES! Especially if it could be had at the preorder price of $239 USD which would make it affordable for most.
