If it's not a sport watch...
If it's not a tool watch...
If it's not a pilot watch...
Then what is it?

I know ManOnTime has strong opinions on what classifies as a "dress watch," but that is the only category this one will fit.

With the central seconds and date complication this fits sport better than it does dress.

I'll debate.

Lack of lume + Low water resistance + polished case = more dress than sport.

50m resistance is 20m more than any dress watch needs. Also, 41mm.

I dub this a "spress" watch.

Haha! I think a spress watch is like a WFH outfit you don when you have a video call (athleisure-ish yet a bit dressy for the camera).

Like wearing a dress shirt and a tie with athletic shorts.

I've done that on a Zoom job interview.

PREORDER: Kickstarter: Fifty Eight Watches - Geneva Tribute Collection

Post by TheJohnP »

Fifty Eight Watches out of London have launched their first Kickstarter for their debut collection, the Geneva Tribute automatic.

Personally, I find them too big, too pricey, and burdened with a date complication. A no-date or color matched date wheel would've been better.

Early Bird pricing is around $640
Kickstarter pricing is around $682
Regular price will be about $986

Estimated delivery is September 2021

The name Fifty Eight was chosen to represent the company’s quest to return to the heydays of vintage watchmaking. When commissioning a watch meant a free interchange of ideas between the customers and the maker.

The Geneva Tribute is available in five colorways - Midnight Blue, Lucent White, Kokanee Salmon, Jade Black, and Rose Gold

The date looks fine on the white dial. On all the others it sticks out like a wart.

More like 58% overpriced.
I wish that watch were 38mm?
