Need Help Deciding.
Need Help Deciding.
Hey inner circle, need some help deciding on a watch from River Edge. My wife gave me the go ahead to get something for myself for Father's Day.
I'm down to the Hamilton Boulton or Junghans Meister Driver or a new intercooler for my car. I'm leaning heavily on the watches...
I love the blue and classic look of the Hamilton, but not sure about a rectangle case.
Something about the Junghans just speaks to me. I mean, look at it! It's just a little pricey.

Re: Need Help Deciding.
Hamilton Boulton mechanical
Pros:
- Cheaper at $537 with discount
- Looks better with OEM strap
- Fan of the tonneau case personally
- Sapphire crystal
Cons:
- Not a huge fan of roman numerals, but these are done well
- Solid caseback, so can't see the movement.
- Looks a tad thick at 11,2mm
Video of watch from a Vietnamese watch channel
Junghans Meister Driver mechanical
Pros:
- More versatile style
- Thinner case at 7.3mm
- Exhibition caseback
- I'm a big fan of the subsecond
- Harder to find on a good deal
Cons:
- More expensive at $777 with discount
- Doesn't look as good on OEM strap (not a problem, but still a con)
- Plexiglass crystal
Video of watch from Serious Watches
All in all, with only $240 difference, I'd vote Junghans.
Hamiltons eventually get discounted and cheaply on the grey market.
Junghans tend to hold value a little more from what I've found.
But if you can't justify the extra $$, the Hammy is a great option.

Junghans all the way. I really like the Boulton, but I love the Driver series.

Junghans!
Re: Need Help Deciding.
Junghans for my vote as well, but it depends on How each watch would fit into your collection.
Re: Need Help Deciding.
That Boulton is cool and it definitely would be unique at least in my collection but I would go with the junghans out of the 2.
Re: Need Help Deciding.
Thanks, guys! Just ordered the junghans. This'll be my second.

Absolutely not! I've got until early August to get the intercooler in. My father in law and I are doing a track day at Laguna Seca in August. I'll need the intercooler to run higher maps on JB4 and E85. He's got BMW 335i, it'll be fun!Split-Time wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 9:42 pmDoes this mean that it is too late to talk about the car?
Re: Need Help Deciding.
What, no invite bro? [emoji23] I'd watch out, I think the 335 will have the advantage there. I mean it really will come down to the driver, but I think he'll have the advantage through 5,6,9 and 10. You will have the AWD advantage and the HP advantage coming out of 11 and 2 for sure.Stretch44 wrote:Absolutely not! I've got until early August to get the intercooler in. Re: Need Help Deciding.
That sounds like a lot of fun. I used to mess with cars all through high school, college and the first few years thereafter. But never since I have had two nickles to rub together .Stretch44 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 9:56 pmAbsolutely not! I've got until early August to get the intercooler in. Until the HPFP gives out, anyway. (Yes, yes, I know that problem has mostly been resolved.)

August 21st through SpeedSF. You're invited! Your A3 would be fun out there, the 2.0 Quattro is no slouch!Dub Rubb wrote: ↑Mon Jun 22, 2020 12:17 amWhat, no invite bro? If I still had the ST on the extremely sticky rubber, I would for sure be in! The 3.2 is a bit nose heavy, and the all seasons would probably just piss me off [emoji23]. Car sounds great though! I am looking forward to needing new tires lol.Stretch44 wrote:August 21st through SpeedSF. You're invited! Now if I could just ensure the MKII wouldn't leak oil or overheat, that would be a riot. Someday though bud, someday.

Oh crap, I totally forgot the A3 Quattro was a 3.2 V6. I had a 1.8T FW A3, she was fun to drive and my first foray into Audi.Dub Rubb wrote: ↑Mon Jun 22, 2020 5:18 pmIf I still had the ST on the extremely sticky rubber, I would for sure be in! We almost signed up for Sears Point, but Laguna Seca is so much closer. Next time we'll get together... now I've just gotta decide on the watch I'll wear. I'm thinking my Hamilton Intra-matic.
