As you may have noticed, we we're offline this morning. This was caused by the "Thanks" plug-in going rogue and using up way too many server resources. This triggered an automatic suspension by our hosting provider as they thought it was a malicious attack. The "Thanks" plug-in has been disabled, hopefully temporarily so I can determine if that was indeed the cause, and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.
I apologize for the disruption and for any confusion that may have caused.

Re: Show Off Your New Watch
Facebook Market Place can be the devil, but sometimes you can find a decent deal.
Last week, I stubbled across a Citizen Eco-Drive and the seller was asking 50 dollars. Watch alone, nothing else. I messaged him, and forgot about the watch until this morning. Guy messaged me back. Said it was still for sale, but the battery was dead and he felt bad selling it in it's current state. I sent an offer of 40 dollars telling him I was ok with it, and he took it.
He found the box, manual and tags, but could not find the extra links with it. Pictures were kinda meh, but I thought what the heck. Met up a mile or so from the house and chatted about watches, dogs and trucks for a good 30 minutes. Hell, 40 bucks was worth it getting out of the house and talking to a normal person
My experience with Eco-Drive watches, is when they go completely dead, they need a reset. I pulled the crown out and let it set for a full minute while I was climbing back in the truck and pulling out. First red light, I hit it with my 1000 Lumen Surefire for about 30 seconds. Next red light, I was getting double ticks! It ran.
Let it sit in the direct sunlight for 3 hours and brought it in. Hit the surfaces with some Flitz and a slow speed on my rotary tool. Cleaned it up and threw on a Barton 22mm band in black with linen stitching.
Ended looking sharp. Nice watch to work around the yard/truck in and not worry about buggering it up. Lume is nice too.
Citizen Eco-Drive Corso
Model #BM7100-59E
42mm Case
Sapphire Crystal
10mm thick
22mm Lug to Lug
E111 Movement (I have a spare Capacitor if needed)

It's so blue!
I ordered this from Invicta Stores on May 18 and it came in today. I'm really digging the shade of blue that gets darker or lighter depending on ambient light. The transition between brushed and polished surfaces is quite well done as well.
All in all, a deal at $65.

Re: Show Off Your New Watch
Cortman's eBay link bit me again last week.
Movado Calendoplan in excellent shape. Few marks on the lugs and bezel I was able mostly polish out. Sapphire crystal. I had about 45 seconds to research it and won.
Found a 21mm Barton Espresso band for it that really makes it pop.

If this watch were 8-12mm smaller, I'd have ordered one already! Looks great, Matt!ManOnTime wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 11:40 am

Naples to Oklahoma in 4 days. Pretty impressed with this Casioak. Smaller than my normal hockey puck, but very clean.

Alpiner quartz 42mm refurb. The dial really comes alive in good light. Thanks to @sh333 for the ebay tip in the bargains thread.
