MoT/LWDS 62MAS project watch interest/commitment poll
MoT/LWDS 62MAS project watch interest/commitment poll
***PLEASE DO NOT VOTE FOR ANY "I will buy" OPTIONS IF YOU DON'T PLAN TO COMMIT. THESE NUMBERS PLAY A FACTOR INTO DISCOUNTS/UPGRADES***
Hey there MoTers!!!
I am organizing a group buy of 62MAS homages using a custom MoT/LWDS dial designed by our very own [mention]Sussa[/mention]. All design decisions have been made in a previous thread, so this is what you're gonna get.
The watch itself will be made by San Martin with our dial layout. I own a few SMs, and they are absolutely fantastic quality, honestly better than Seiko themselves a lot of the time.
We *should* be able to do a mixed run of both blue and gunmetal dials, but if not, we will go with whichever color proves more popular in the poll. The watch will only be offered on bracelet, but should be a strap monster for all your favorite 20mm straps.
The watch will be priced under $300 USD complete with sapphire crystal and ceramic bezel insert. More specs at the end. Having been a part of a few San Martin group buys with the BSH, this price could go down quite a bit depending on how many we commit to. The number of people willing to buy could also open up more options such as a signed crown or caseback.
Once this poll has been completed, and we get some commitments, I will send the info over to SM and see where we stand.
*I am 99% sure we will be able to choose from both blue or gunmetal but will confirm that here.
Don't miss out on being the proud owner of the very first LWDS/MoT group watch buy. If this goes as well as the others I have been a part of, this won't be the last. But you never know!!!
Enough chit chat. On to the specs, and more importantly the pics!!!

Also remember that the 14mm thickness includes that proud domed/top hat crystal.

Also, a reminder as I forgot myself. The poll is accessible using tapatalk, its just located as a drop down at the very top of the thread.

How could I not be in?

I'm not in, but don't feel the poll or idea is stupid.
So not voting either.

Re: MoT/LWDS 62MAS project watch interest/commitment poll
Somehow missed the other thread. I really wish the "always compliant" wasn't on the dial. I do like the use of red and the LWDS logo. Maybe I can get in on the design and development of the next watch. Congrats to those that pick one of these up
Re: MoT/LWDS 62MAS project watch interest/commitment poll
Alright, so it seems like we are at 7 ish. If we can get to 10, there might be some more wiggle room on a discount. In a perfect world, I would be able to ask for 5 blue and 5 gunmetal, but I know that's unrealistic.
Originally, I had no interest in the blue. Then I got a few new blue dialed watches and decided that there is absolutely no way I am buying 4 blue watches in a row. That's dumb.
Then I saw this: Now I need both because fomo.

Count me in of course. Blue. Or gunmetal. Whichever we get, with blue the favorite.
If it comes down to being 1 short, then both...let's make it happen.

Holdin' out for the dress watch version...
Re: MoT/LWDS 62MAS project watch interest/commitment poll
Alrighty. Looks like we are at 11 ish so far. Everyone who voted please PM me with your desired color choice. I will reach out to SM to see where we stand on color choice and price. It's not too late to join in, but this will help see where we stand.

Re: MoT/LWDS 62MAS project watch interest/commitment poll
Can't join this one as I'm currently over my watch budget, but I have the San Martin SN007-G-V4 this is based on, and the quality and finishing is absolutely stellar. Anyone with concerns on that score need not worry. Good luck!
Tap. Talk. Buy another watch. Repeat as needed.

Re: MoT/LWDS 62MAS project watch interest/commitment poll
So far I have 6 blue commitments and 2 gunmetal. I have MoT in the blue column as I think he may have favored that colorway [emoji23][emoji8]. Funny how the tables have turned. I myself was all team gray, but that blue though. . . in the last mockup?!? Straight [emoji91].
Still hoping we don't have to decide and we all get our favorites. Just waiting on a few more replies before I reach out to SM.
