Dub Rubb wrote: Fri May 21, 2021 9:56 pm So far I have 6 blue commitments and 2 gunmetal. I have MoT in the blue column as I think he may have favored that colorway [emoji23][emoji8]. Funny how the tables have turned. I myself was all team gray, but that blue though. . . in the last mockup?!? Straight [emoji91].

Still hoping we don't have to decide and we all get our favorites. Just waiting on a few more replies before I reach out to SM.

Why don't you leave the poll open for an extended length of time and get more commitments? Just thinking that you might get more that way, and possibly lower the price? It's a great idea but it's also a pretty good premium for a custom dial....and can someone tell me what LWDS is supposed to be please?

The Legion of Watch Deal Seekers. In short, it's a subgroup within the forum where there are themed days of the week that set the "rules" for compliance: Mod Mondays, Tool Watch Tuesday, etc. I put rules in quotes because it's 1) all in good fun and 2) you can make up any rule you want to be compliant. That's why the dial says Always Compliant.

I definitely plan on leaving the poll open. The more the merrier(and cheaper!) I was just curious to see where we stand price wise as of now, and also to make sure that both colorways will be viable. It's easier to talk to the manufacturer with legitimate numbers and still have some time to garner more interest and commitments which will only bring the price down further.

Sussa covered what the LWDS is all about, but feel free to check in yourself when you get a chance. The compliance "rules" have been a good excuse to wear those watches that normally live in the back of the watch box Just for compliance sake. Then realizing you should wear them more and reigniting the flame that caused the purchase in the first place.

LOL! you are hilarious for even making "I won't buy any of these, this poll and idea is stupid" an option. But who clicked on it?? Ice cold.

I know who did, and I'm a little surprised. But, everyone is allowed to like (or dislike) as they wish.

What does "commitment" in this situation mean? I clicked on gunmetal, am I now obliged to buy it?

Does anyone mind replying with link to the thread where this was designed? I am a bit curious how that unfolded. Bravo for going through it and surviving! :)

I'm not in, due to price (I'm huge a cheapass), but I think this project is really cool. I hope everyone gets a great watch and enjoys them a lot!

Also... I wanted to give my input about the dial design. Just my unsolicited opinion of course, so no offense is intended at all.

1) The logo could look cool with either:
- A layout similar to BSH, where the initials are somehow inside or intertwined with a graphic.
- Maybe just have a smaller graphic icon located above the text, like a Tudor/Rolex/etc.
- Just the initials, like how MVMT do theirs :S (confidence shrinking... lol).

2) The red colored text would look great in a dark yellow or orange.

Holdin' out for the dress watch version...
If some extra dials could be ordered, this design would look really good in a no bezel 36-38mm seiko case too.

Edit: Is there an option to buy dials too? Are they 28.5mm?

Would be in for a gunmetal version. Not a fan of the “Always Compliant” text but willing to give this one a go.

Either one looks good to me. Being made by San Martin, the quality should be great.

Not yet. This is the first run. Hopefully it will lead to some dial runs with this and other designs down the road. You are right, these would look great in a 37mm Seiko 5!
