Slower. And the markup will be higher.
I wish that watch were 38mm?

I don't know, you've got a watch that starts about 3x higher MSRP, so I think overall demand might be quite a bit lower. Depends on how many they make. Can they put out Casio volumes? Probably not. It's a more complex watch (I assume). But where are they on the supply and demand curve?

Also, they're launching with a bunch more models to spread out demand. I suspect 3 will become the darlings, and some of the wilder ones will be easier to find.

I do agree that markups will initially be quite a bit higher if they can't get supply out there.

By all reports, Swatch has been sitting on this secret for nearly a year. It uses an off the shelf movement that they use in many of their other chronographs.

My hunch is they've been cranking these out nearly the whole time (and are continuing to do so), and once this initial hype rocket attains orbit, they'll easily be able to resupply the brick and mortars and offer through online channels.

Wonder if it's the same movement from my Swatch? Looks likely.

Vario announced on WUS that their Empire chronograph will launch on April 1. $298USD retail, minus a 15% discount for early birds. Unsure if the 5% discount for newsletter sign up would stack.

Did anyone ever get a Giorgio Galli Timex? There are numerous Timex fans here, so wanted to ask. I see they’re still around and considering a 38mm.

I want one and have no preference in size. I don't have a reason for not getting one, either. Perhaps the next time a decent coupon/sale comes around.

I'm not sure I've ever seen that one go on sale or works with a code. Shame because it is a looker.

I could swear that I've seen universal 30% off on their site before. Don't remember if it was a promo code, sale, or some other context.
I specifically remember seeing 30% off on the American Documents and S1 41mm. Don't know if/when they'll have a similar event.

I recall that, and I nearly jumped on the S1 then. I should have.

My final off-topic comment is that the 38mm version has a sapphire crystal, 41 has mineral. That’s a big factor for me.

Thoughts?
Definitely my favorite of that group of G shocks and I’m happy to see it’s the same price as the others.
