I’m on a cruise ship at the moment and I amused myself in the watch shop. They have several Oris models, some of which are “on clearance.” They have a Big Crown Propilot on a bracelet for $1137, no tax and they are an AD. From my research that’s actually a decent deal for a non-gray market watch and it seems like a nice watch but I wanted to get some input in case there’s some issues with Oris or this model I’m unaware of.
Good watch?
Good deal?
Other Oris I should consider instead? They had several other on clearance.
This is the first time I’ve seen a watch on a cruise ship that I actually considered buying.

Oris Big Crown Propilot?
Need the model number. You can just post a pic of the tag here if you want.
Is it a 3-hand, and are the hour markers printed or applied?

Re: Oris Big Crown Propilot?
Oris is a well made watch and no underlying issues with the brand I'm aware of.
If the model is similar to this, then that is a fantastic deal from an AD.

I believe @denormalize has one and can speak to build quality and real world experience.
The models Oris are well known for are their Big Crown Pointer Date. If they have those on clearance, could be something to consider. But only if it appeals to you of course.

Re: Oris Big Crown Propilot?
That’s the newest one with applied markers. It’s probably the older one with printed markers, but either way it’s a good deal. Better on the former.TheJohnP wrote:Oris is a well made watch and no underlying issues with the brand I'm aware of.
