As you may have noticed, we we're offline this morning. This was caused by the "Thanks" plug-in going rogue and using up way too many server resources. This triggered an automatic suspension by our hosting provider as they thought it was a malicious attack. The "Thanks" plug-in has been disabled, hopefully temporarily so I can determine if that was indeed the cause, and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future.

I apologize for the disruption and for any confusion that may have caused.

Yeah, that is exceptional. Congratulations….one of the most complete and best preserved representations I have seen. Pristine. Must have been in a Time Capsule to preserve the bezel so well. Was there any restoration done to it?

Here’s the gist of what I know… the guy who bought it from the auction house had it serviced/overhauled by a guy named Yuriy Vakulenko, a watchmaker in Canada who literally wrote the book on vintage Zodiacs. Fast forward a couple of years to when the watchmaker that I just bought it from received it, he did 3 primary things in order to resell it: regulated the movement, replaced the crystal with the best modern match possible, and most notably, replaced the service dial that it had when he acquired it (presumably from a service the original owner had done many years ago) with an authentic one from a donor watch.

I wonder if the auction house would share any information with me about the original owner. I suspect not, but I might give that a try anyway.

Flying back home from the in laws' today, and somehow I have the Nodus above, a John Mayer g shock, and a khaki mechanical from the used HUISABH thread all waiting for me. Didn't mean to have a watch binge in the last week but here we are.

Lol I got it used at a really good price almost the same if not better then the CW sales price. This was yet another impulse buy.

Unfortunately not for me, but a fun story in bidding nonetheless. Was listed at €699. I sent a lowball of €450 with 2.5hr left on the auction. The seller replied with a 2hr only offer of €575. I declined and countered with €550. He waited until the auction ended with no bids, then sold it to me.

Now one for me…vintage PUW 1561, all stainless case. Seller listed it at €49.00. Sent an offer for €35 with 4 hours left on the auction and no bids. Two hours left, still no bids and the smart ass countered with €50. I declined and offered €40. Now it’s mine.

A well-loved Gray Ghost is headed my way from Reddit. Scratch on the crystal and the power reserve button doesn't work, but I am happy with the price. Have always wanted one of these.

Got a heads up from @Miggyd87 for this Lima Meca02 auction.
