First of all, for any who remember.. I am alive!

I've had quite a past year and a half, lots of personal stuff going on. Some good, some not so good. So I kind of fell off the forum and discord. So let me formally say hi by posting a comment buried in this thread!

I've been thinking about this forum quite a bit lately! Even when absent physically, I've always been here spiritually as I'm constantly on the lookout for watch deals.

So allow me to share my latest dumb purchase which is currently in the mail. From Kazakhstan.

Is it a scam? Maybe. Probably, even. But it's backed by eBay's money back guarantee. And I paid with Amex, who I have found to generally be very good about protecting my (their) money. So that's two levels of protection in terms of getting my money back. And if this stunt works, this is an absolute "deal of the century" for me!! And it really got me thinking.. dang I know a group of people who are into watch deals that would probably get a kick out of this.

I'll be sure to report either way!

Also - I'll try to participate from now on, but on a more manageable level. I don't think I can compete any more with some of the heavy hitters here in terms of sheer volume or quality of deals, and sometimes even the discord was hard to keep up with for me (so not sure just how much I'll be jumping back on), but I miss this place! And I will try to not disappear without a trace for the umpteenth time

So glad you're alive, well, and have returned!

Germans seem to have a much higher acceptance rate for low-balls.

Very very excited for this one. An smp300m in blue has been on my want-to-own list since at least 2012, mostly because I love the 1990 and newer James Bond movies. I first got to try one on at an AD in 2016 but definitely could not justify the cost back then. And then when the 2018 model released I loved it even more, but prices were even higher. And then they raised the prices even more in the last 2 years. I planned to buy a blue Tudor pelagos instead but could not find a single used one for a good price here, a new one would've cost me more than I paid for this smp300.

So last week I found someone selling theirs, only worn for 4 months and nearly flawless condition for a price I could justify.

Wow, now THAT is a splurge!

LOL, for me more like a drunken debacle, but hopefully it all makes sense in the end.

Those are some damn nice watches. My fav is the Nardin.
