Congratulations to The Sultan of SoWhat!
TheJohnP laid down the gauntlet in last month's Thread Stats thread, (see here: https://www.manontime.com/viewtopic.php ... 820#p98837) challenging The Sultan to best him, with a charitable contribution on the line. The Sultan of SoWhat took up the gauntlet and made good use of it, defeating TheJohnP and taking the crown as August's deal posting king!
Deals were stable this month, with a small decline in total posted, but a quite a large drop in the amount of members posting. Imagine what these stats could look like if every pair of eyes lurking in the deal thread posted just one!
Anyway...
On to the numbers!
(As always, if there is a particular brand, site or other pieces of data you'd like, let me know and I can provide it.)
Let's remember a few things first:
I based these calculations on new and refurbished watches only.
I do not include watch accessories or used watches.
I only included deals with links.
The retail price used was either the retail price listed on the selling website or found on the manufacturer's site.
Currency, if not in USD was converted to USD using Google's currency exchange calculator on as close to the date the deal was posted as possible.
"Largest" and "Smallest" deal is based solely on the percentage savings from listed retail. I do not make subjective determinations on the brand's perceived value. That is up to you, the reader.

Far and wide I will find 'em and I ride 'em
Bricks and mortar get my licks just for kicks

Retail, wholesale never fail
Online or offline, I find I don't redefine
Too big to fail or yard sale they all hale
Run or hide just for fun deals I find
I won, but I can't believe it. Last night I was ready to write a check to my designated charity to cover all promises that had been made. I saw no reason that the charity should miss out just because I fell an Alpina or a Seiko short. I even composed in my head a concession statement to acknowledge the great John P.
Anyway, I'm off to write a check to cover my promise.
I hope that a few of my postings led to purchases by the great people here at MoT.

P.S.: John is still numero uno in my book!
A well-deserved win. Let's see if you can make it two months in a row, or if another member can take top spot!
Please let John and myself know the charity so we can make good on our promises.

I'm going to try to pull off another win.
But if a member other than John or myself comes out on top, I will donate $75 to that member's favorite charity.
