Ulysse Nardin as a Brand is historically known to have ties to the world’s navies and this particular model, Maxi Marine, pays homage to the Sea. A tool for precision but also packed with a lot of aesthetics that would give it all major points also as accessory for fashion and style. As the entire watch case is made of 18k solid gold, the robustness of the face of the watch translating that of ship’s deck clock which stems from the brand’s historic use of marine chronometers on voyage. So not your conventional bezel, giving more depth and legibility.
At 41mm, it is the perfect size putting it in a head to head contest with other sports watches such as a Daytona, just with a higher quality finish, being made of Solid gold and a lot of watch for the money. The colorplay of the cobalt blue hands against the gold case is a brilliant move, with the rose gold applied luminescent markers which creates the perfect contrast.

Features and Condition
The watch is in a pristine condition, running great and has remained unpolished in my possession. The screw-down chrono pushers are as responsive as they should with that ‘click’ upon activating the timer. The Crystal is flawless with zero scratches or cracks and the rotating bezel is as smooth as butter. There are some faint hairline scratches from usual wear on the watch case and clasp of the bracelet but no dings or deep scratches. The leather strap still has a lot of life left and has no cracks.
