Loving the GS pickup. I am planning my last big (and definitely biggest ever) watch purchase right now. I am very torn between Grand Seiko and a Speedy moonwatch. All the GS I like would overlap with watches I already have, but spring drive is just calling to me, and you ain't helping me out!

You’re exactly where I was in January. Then I saw a post on WUS that Timeless Luxury had a sale on old logo GSs at 40% off MSRP so I picked up a SBGJ213. I was after a hi beat and was sold on the dial-matching black date wheel, rare for GS. Problem is that craving for a Speedy never went away...
The GS snowflake always calls to me. But, I have the SJE073 which has Zaratsou polishing, a 28,800 movement, a similar dial and is much thinner. Not sure I would want to part with it. The speedy however. . . I have one other mechanical chronograph, the Pogue. I think it fits into my collection better, and then if I get the Bulova lunar pilot, I have ALL the moonwatches!!!

But Man am I a sucker for Seiko. . .

By the way, for your future questionable purchases, PayPal offers a Prepaid MasterCard:

https://www.paypal-prepaid.com/
https://www.paypal.com/us/smarthelp/art ... AE-faq3394

I really don't know much about this card or how it compares to other prepaid cards, I just came across while trying to decide if I want to use "real" credit card or not.

Which one?

I can't wait for them to announce the December model! Should be in October.

I’ve also had a FOIS, there’s really no wrong answer. The GS is probably more versatile though.

Yet another price drop on all 7 Eterna Eternity models at Ashford. Use code AFFETM379 to bring the price down to $379. Remember to go through Rakuten to activate 3% cash back. 40mm. Sellita SW200 automatic movement. Click the pic to link.

The link is acting funny for me. Maybe try this one or just search for Eternity in the Ashford search bar and all 7 models should come up.

Can someone verify if this is legitimate?

Seller named everydaydealsince1997 (but seems to have only been on Ebay since March 2019). Has 100% positive feedback.

Listing is for Seiko SARB017 refurbished to new on Ebay going for USD 299.99. 3 available at time of this post but no box/papers. Seems to have sold 129 units of the SARB017's so far. All feedback seems to be listed as "private".

Description states "Condition: Seller Refurbished. (we buy these authentic watches and refurbished them ourselves by replacing the WATCHBAND and CASEBACK with brand new original parts). They look like Brand New. So why pay more money for brand new item where you can buy almost the same condition/quality for cheaper. we provide 6 months warranty, so if you encounter any issue with it, please contact our customer service and we will surely go extra mile to help you out"

Am I the only one who finds it ironic that Eterna uses Sellita movement? Not that there's something wrong with it @...

No familiarity here, but very curious why the caseback would need to be replaced for a refurbishing. Is it because that is where the serial number would be? Are these just being assembled from available parts? I'm suspicious.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I figure that a credit card is preferable to cash-like (or debit) cards for purchases from questionable sellers. I figure that the cc company has a strong interest in detecting fraud, and it seems like they are pretty good about protecting the buyer. I'm not speaking from first-hand experience, however. But I've heard stories where when fraud is afoot, the cc company will take the hit and shield the buyer if that's what it comes to. I would be interested to learn if I'm totally off base, here. OTOH, if you end up having to get a new cc number, that would be a hassle. Good reason to have a few different cards, I guess.

That's a good point. I've been pondering that myself. There's also a $4.95 monthly fee, at least for the PP card. No thanks.

Something like a Virtual Credit Card may be a better option, though again I'm not speaking from experience.
