Shout out to justin86 for the assist on this one [emoji106]
Looks fantastic. Is the bracelet fully polished?
The beads down the center are polished and links on each side are brushed. [emoji106]

My wife found this watch while organizing some of the things that we brought to our house after my mother and grandmother passed. I was in the attic when she found it. She called up, “I found a watch and it started moving when I picked it up. Is that good?” Well, at least I knew it was an automatic. Then she said that it had a calendar on the bracelet. I immediately pictured the small calendars that I have seen so many times on astronaut’s JB Champion bracelet’s in the 1960’s. Having never seen a bracelet calendar I was very excited as I climbed down the ladder.

“Let me see it! Let me see it!,” I said. Followed by, “what is this?” :?

I guess we will never know the story here. Who thought a gold-ish ill fitting bracelet was a good idea on a silver watch? I can see something like this bracelet being sold at a stand at the mall. The calendar is on December 1970. Did the owner say, “Well, it’s January 1971 so I can’t use this anymore.” I showed it to my father and he doesn’t remember it.

Here it is on an 18mm strap that arrived yesterday. The day and date change over but I can’t set them myself. Not super cool but I’m just happy to have found another watch that may have been used by my family.

Mine may never arrive. In the meantime i have this. Need a strap, but i can dig the low-level-russian-gangster vibe for now.
