Got a newsletter from Scurfa today. Along with a new D1 variant, the 2021 D1 limited edition, and a promise for a March restock, they announced a new automatic model set to debut in June, called the Treasure Seeker.

Image
Around June time we should see the 'Treasure Seeker', it’s a brand new automatic model and features the fine case back artwork of John Patterson, an ex Stolt Comex diver and now award winning artist. More information on the Treasure Seeker is to follow...
No pricing or specs announced. The only other auto currently available on the website (Bell Diver PVD) retails for 320 GBP not including VAT.

They also teased some titanium models in September.
I wish that watch were 38mm?

Farer has released their take of a field watch: https://usd.farer.com/products/lomond

I have been a fan of Farer and am always eager to see what sort of interesting color schemes they have for each new releases. I think compared to other series, their use of colors here is relatively constrained. It is not bad, just feels slightly different, but the subtle touches are evident and appreciated. Initially, I thought I'd likely be drawn to the Pembroke the most, but the dial appears oddly flat to me upon closer look. I think it's the first time they did not introduce any texture to a dial option, yet the Pembroke might benefit from that. Currently, my favorite is the Lomond (years ago I actually visited Loch Lomond as a teenager).

Each watch comes with a jubilee bracelet, leather and NATO straps. Their pre-selected color combinations seem thoughtful. The choice of a jubilee for a field watch is interesting.

One last observation - Farer continues with their tradition here of having relatively short lug-to-lug, which I really appreciate. I think there might be more folks benefitting from/appreciating short lug distances vs those who actually would like long lugs. I could be wrong though.

New CW Sapphire in Black!

call me crazy, but i think this looks way cooler than the original blue... and would probably look even better with a black bezel instead of the steel one :)

I have been a big fan of Farer's designs until the last few releases. Unfortunately for me, I think these fields watches are an abomination and I hope Farer returns to subjectivily 'better designs' like the Cobb, Hopewell, et al.

I am dissapoint

Long Island Watch has launched their latest Islander dress watch collection a SARBO33 meets Datejust inspired piece.
He calls it a Hi-Beat, but I don't consider the 28,800 Miyota 9015 to qualify. If it's not a 36,000 bph, it's NOT hi-beat!!

Price is $349

Me too. And, as I think TheJohnP might have first observed when they released their first round of “dress” watches, until that logo goes, it’s tough for me to think of these as a “dress” watch. Even then, these strike me as “dressy tool.”

Seconds hand and date = NOT dress. ;)

I have a little leniency for the seconds hand being there on a "true" dress watch just because I like them myself. The date on the other hand is a definite no no. You can have a "dressy _______" watch but if it has the date, it isn't a true "dress" watch.

P.s. I am fully aware of how pompous and douchey what I just wrote is. Can't help it when it comes to dress watches

I think that blue and white one is a nice looking, hi-beat, dress watch.

Posted this to the Kickstarter thread, but thought it would be pertinent to post here too. Looks like Goodspeed pulled the plug and cancelled the Kickstarter campaign. They will not be moving forward with either Quartz or Automatic offerings. Posted on IG:

While I know I'm slightly altering the connotation of "dress" here, maybe it's better to think of watches like these as "suit" watches.

Are they reserved for the most refined events? They might not be. Would they be at home under the jacket sleeve of a suit? Yes, they would. Just like a Rolex Day-Date is technically not a "dress" watch, but probably is not out of place while wearing either formal or less-than-formal attire.

For the record, I like what Marc is doing with his expansion of Islander watches to be more that SXK replacements.
