Given that the movement in it is a pretty expensive one, anything with it for less than $500 is probably a pretty decent deal. I have a semi-skeleton in what looks like the same case (mine is rose gold plated) and I measured it at 6.8mm, give or take. My model usually goes for $700+, for reference. Wears incredibly thin. May yet pull the trigger myself so please buy them up. Last thing I need is another watch.

This put me down a a bit of a rabbit hole looking through Louis Erard pieces on eBay. It's weird that you can see more than a few of these listed for less than $500. Are there any other small brands that can be found at ridiculous discount like this?

For those who like Eterna, or the Longines Master Moonphase Calendar look for less, this is arguably the cheapest this Eterna Tangaroa model has been. Price: $ 1,695, list: $ 6 ,750. Note that it is Gemnation's deal of the day which cannot be returned or exchanged.

Beautiful watch, if you don't mind the 14mm thickness.

Hope you're not feeling too argumentative, lol  (in all fairness, this is from over 5 years ago...approx. 4/16)

This thing is in many ways the perfect watch – it's cheap, small, light, accurate, super legible and the lume never fades (oh, and you can use it as a torch!).

Mine is with drilled lugs and the snap-on caseback – the newer ones screw down. I think all have push-pull crowns, though.

Rubicon Watches seem to have an infinite supply of "display models" (though now labeled "new without tags") currently priced at £29.99 and they ship internationally, although don't seem to automatically substract VAT.

Besides the absence of the time machine that would get us to $ 999, I would also point out that the two watches have different dials and a different retail price. The one that dumberdrummer is talking about had a retail price of $ 4,900 while the one Gemnation is selling currently has a retail price of $6,750.

Is there a real difference between the two, or is this just a cosmetic change, adjustment for inflation or just a marketing trick? I don't know but since the other one is long gone, it doesn't really matter.

I bought this Eterna Tangaroa Moonphase (gray dial) from a fellow MoT user and love it.

Was checking your link and the screwdown caseback drilled lugs version is this one (more expensive):

https://www.rubiconwatches.com/lorus-lu ... 655ax9-new

Had one and it was a very good watch but it's a little small and has 18mm lugs.
If Lorus made it a tiny bit bigger with 20mm lugs it would then be perfect.
I now have this one (£18.99). The bezel is fixed but it's a great little watch:
