January 2021 Stats: Happy New Year, I Hope You Like RED Edition

The New Year always starts in a slump, and boy howdy, January did not fail in that regard! Every single metric was down, and some quite significantly.

[mention]flypanam[/mention] put up a fight, but couldn't repeat his valiant effort in December 2020 and gave up the top spot once again to [mention]TheJohnP[/mention]. It's a lot of fun seeing those two go back and forth. It's even more enjoyable to see new(er) names on the list such as [mention]Miggyd87[/mention].

Of course, I would never forget to mention HUISABH veteran and stalwart [mention]The Sultan of SoWhat[/mention]. Whenever a Maruice Lacroix Elrios or especially a Zeppelin is posted I instantly know who it is. Sultan, you're going to get me to buy a Zeppelin sooner or later!

Let's remember a few things first:

• I based these calculations on new and refurbished watches only.

• I do not include watch accessories or used watches.

• I only included deals with links.

• The retail price used was either the retail price listed on the selling website or found on the manufacturer's site.

• Currency, if not in USD was converted to USD using Google's currency exchange calculator on as close to the date the deal was posted as possible.

• "Largest" and "Smallest" deal is based solely on the percentage savings from listed retail. I do not make subjective determinations on the brand's perceived value. That is up to you, the reader.

How did Jan 2021 deal volume compare with Jan 2020? It did feel like a slow month but perhaps that was just in relation to the frenzy of the holidays.

This January was down VS January 2020, but when taken into context, Jan. 2020 was also down significantly VS December 2019. It's a trend, and I chalk it up to the post-holiday slump that affects most things.
