Posted: Tue Apr 27, 2021 1:42 pm
Axios Watches, founded by Elshan Tang, Stuart Ho and Justin Chiam out of Singapore, have returned to Kickstarter with their latest model, the 1940's heritage inspired Pathfinder automatic field watch.
This is their second campaign and this one is already fully funded (by over 600%!).
Super Early Bird pricing was around $250 SOLD OUT
Early Bird pricing is around $280
Regular price will be about $339
Estimated delivery is November 2021
In the 1940s, the British Ministry of Defence required watches to issue to military personnel. These watches would have had to undergo harsh conditions in the field, hence had to meet a set of strict specifications. They needed to be waterproof, luminous, regulated to chronometer level, and had to have a robust case. Additionally, there were a certain size and movement requirements that these watches had to follow.
The British Ministry of Defense approached a group of twelve neutral Swiss watchmakers during WWII to build these watches.
In the Pathfinder, we reworked the 1940s field watch – retaining the spirit of rugged utility influenced by modern materials, manufacturing tech, and our design ideas.
The Pathfinder will be available colorways - Black, Copper, Polar, Salmon, and Slate Grey.
