Should it stay or should it go?

Post by IKEEPGOODTIME »

So this is the state of the collection

Image

The GS has been worn 21 times since of 2021. That is out of 758 wears of all watches.....2.7%

I *want* to have a collection like this, but I do not have the discipline. Every time I thin the herd, I get down to like 8 watches and then it works its way up to ~15.

Anyway, 3% wear rate in a four-watch collection means let it go.
I wish that watch were 38mm?

Well not quite that bad.....right around 40 watches crossed my wrist last year including a few loaners, a couple of review pieces, and a few that sold within the first 2 weeks of 2021 because they carried over from 2020.

But even with that other detail thrown in, under 3% is terrible. Then considering that I have not worn it all in 2022, I doubt the total for 2022 would be dramatically higher stats if I keep it all year.

If you rarely wear it because you like the others better that's one thing, but if it's because you really don't care much for it...bye bye.

I genuinly like the watch but i tend to find the other watches fit my lifestyle better on a regular basis.

The GS is a dressy watch and if you do wear dressy clothes at times then you will need it. I have watches I rarely wear that come in handy for the right occasions.

Unless you have something really drawing you in another direction, I’d hang onto it. But there’s also the logic that it’s thousands of dollars going unused and could be much better utilized some other way. I dunno.
